In my last job the boss used to take us to a Davy's when wanted a quick and dirty team lunch!Stonchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15927490011165896353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12501248.post-85336124016202169872007-12-12T18:06:00.000+00:002007-12-12T18:06:00.000+00:00While Davy's is indeed "not entirely unappealing" ...While Davy's is indeed "not entirely unappealing" I find the prices entirely appalling, even for central London ... the name Old Wallop always makes me sneer, too, as historically "wallop" was a nickname for mild.Zythophilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07169961035352165436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12501248.post-7078878030608128142007-12-11T13:50:00.000+00:002007-12-11T13:50:00.000+00:00I thought all the agéd wood and wrought iron expre...I thought all the agéd wood and wrought iron expressed a sizeable quantity of swank, but I confess to not being up on winebar chic. I was sure the handpumps were fake and concealed a keg tap behind them, but I didn't do a full audit. The Beer Nuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14105708522526153528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12501248.post-33291939967767747842007-12-11T13:42:00.000+00:002007-12-11T13:42:00.000+00:00Old Wallop is Courage Director's rebadged (brewed ...Old Wallop is Courage Director's rebadged (brewed by Wells & Young's), and is indeed cask conditioned.

It's served under that name in Davy's Wine Bars, a chain which is not entirely unappealing. I must say though, I'd never describe them as "swanky"! They're (intentionally) rather basic, attempting to imitate old fashioned cellar bars. Many of them even scatter sawdust on the floor!Stonchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15927490011165896353noreply@blogger.com
