The G-B in San Francisco was THE place to go. Today, their beers are considered pretty mainstream.

As for Speakeasy, they are the forgotten Northern California brewery. Back in the day, Big Daddy was one of the early, memorable hop bombs. But in the today's world of Bear Republic's Racer 5 and Russian River's Blind Pig, Big Daddy seems quite tame. It's a shame because they still make good beer.

Next time we are in Ireland, I'll bring you a Double Daddy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12501248.post-57785106903461195602008-10-23T15:16:00.000+01:002008-10-23T15:16:00.000+01:00Sheils eh, sad to see then not trying to expand th...Sheils eh, sad to see then not trying to expand the market a littleOblivioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04184794716327407609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12501248.post-32241017316152499842008-10-23T09:57:00.000+01:002008-10-23T09:57:00.000+01:00Oh yes: I think the Porterhouse will have them as ...Oh yes: I think the Porterhouse will have them as well. The Beer Nuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14105708522526153528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12501248.post-76173161260134737752008-10-23T09:49:00.000+01:002008-10-23T09:49:00.000+01:00Bizarrely, the only other place I know to be stock...Bizarrely, the only other place I know to be stocking them is The Woolshed -- a ghastly Aussie theme pub in salubrious Parnell Street. So who is stocking them (other than Deveney's)?

I can't believe an off-license would try them and like them, but not sell them. Would it be the well reputed one in Ranelagh, or the one that tends to be on the other side of the city?Barry Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07367655129107699025noreply@blogger.com
